As you may already know, oral hygiene is very important. However, one thing you might not have known is that your oral hygiene routine can change at every age. So, it’s best to keep up with the oral hygiene techniques that are recommended for your smile. To help you, our dentist, Dr. Steven Rodriguez, is happy to share details on top-notch oral hygiene at every age.

For babies, it’s best to clean their little chompers as soon as they grow into place. You can do so with a child-sized toothbrush and water. You can introduce fluoride toothpaste as soon as they turn 2-3 years old, depending on the dentist’s recommendations. When they have two teeth grow in next to each other, make sure to floss regularly.

For teenagers, it’s best to brush twice a day and floss once a day. You can also rinse your mouth with mouthwash daily for top-notch smile results. If you have braces, it’s important to brush every morning, every night, and after every meal and snack. It’s also important to floss regularly. If you can’t, make sure to floss at least once a day.

For adults, it’s best to brush your teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. As you brush, scrub for two minutes each time and use a gentle brushing motion. Make sure to floss at least once a day and rinse your mouth daily with mouthwash.
